Our beloved Lucious Herculy Green was born on February 2, 1945, in Manning, South Carolina, to the late Henry and Thelma Green. Affectionately known as *Nuk,* Lucious was a blessing to his family from the very beginning. Vernice Junious, Cenie Brock, Henry Jr., Daisy Jones, Lee Harry, Elijah, Albert, Lucille, Johnny, and Mary Major preceded him in death. He received his early education in Clarendon County, South Carolina, and was no stranger to hard work, often helping to support his family from an early age. Lucious went on to build a long and dedicated career as a crane operator, working tirelessly for many years until his well-earned retirement. Lucious was a true family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones. If you knew him, you knew he had a passion for racing cars, shooting pool, and playing dominoes. Straightforward and to the point, Lucious always spoke his mind, a quality that earned him both respect and admiration. In 1970, Lucious married Minnie Flennory. Together, they were blessed with four children *Michael, Jennifer, Lucious James, and Josephine. His children became the greatest source of pride and joy in his life. Though their marriage ended, Lucious and Minnie remained united in their love and dedication to their children. Lucious was preceded in death by his daughter, Josephine, whose memory he carried in his heart always. Later in life, Lucious* family grew to include two additional daughters, Sandra Kelly and Alexis Brown, who brought him great happiness and pride.
Lucious leaves to cherish his memory his children: Michael (Rachel); Jennifer Jones (Levertus); Lucious (Darlene); Sandra Kelly (Kadoo); and Alexis Brown. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Gamble (Eugene), Susie Jones (David), Shirley Shaw (Ronald), Irving Green (Carrie), Ruthie Green (Campanella), David Green (Terri), Francine Green, Genice June, Essie, Albert, Alfonso, Nathaniel (Queen), James (Jackie), Alphonso, Wallace, Dora, Madeline Billups, Robert McCray, Eloise McCray, Hollistine Smith, Leroy McCray, Ruby Ray Carter, Rasheed (Antoinette), Robin, Anthony, Timothy, and Shirley Jullien; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
His legacy will live on through his children, his family, and all those whose lives he touched with his strength, wisdom, and love.
