On April 23, 1954, a handsome baby boy was blessed to the union of Joseph Lee and Doretha Wilbon. They christened their bundle of joy Leon Wilbon.
*The family settled in the South Florida community where Leon began his educational journey at Naranja Elementary, Redland Junior High, and graduated from South Dade Senior High School. Upon completion of high school, Leon enlisted in the United States Army, where he rendered dutiful service to his fellow countrymen.
*Leon will be fondly remembered as a very caring and humble person who enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He also enjoyed watching football, spending time with his family and friends.
*On May 9, 2025, Leon answered God's call, and he is now resting from his Earthly labors for all Eternity. Leon was preceded in death by a son, Leon Wilbon Jr.
*Precious and loving memories will forever dwell in the hearts and thoughts of his children: Lakenya Brown, Michelle Wilbon, Chinaka Wilbon Wilson (Lee Wilson), and Deondre Wilbon; siblings: Brenda Rhames of Homestead, FL, Rose Atkins (Pastor John Atkins) of Homestead, FL, Linda Kolen of Crestview, FL, Clarence Smith of Homestead, FL, and Luella Wilbon of Homestead, FL; and a host of grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
