Better known as “Lena” by her family and close friends, was born in Deland, Fla. and raised in Miami- Dade county, to her parents, Joyce A. Kelly (Mother, preceded in death 2020) and Jonah Robert Johnson-Kelly. Elena Attended the Dade county public school system (South-Dade highschool and Miami-South ridge) Lena stepped into motherhood in 1992 when she welcomed her only child, a beautiful baby girl Princess Kelly which was the highlight of our lives, almost immediately after her daughter was born, South Dade was devastated by a ravaging hurricane (Andrew) life was extremely difficult for us all, but Lena showed us just how resilient she was after surviving a stroke when her baby girl was only a few months old. Lena was a devoted grandmother to beautiful girls (Trinity Hadley and Madison Cobb) ; they were her pride and joy. Elena is preceded in death by her beloved sister (Annquinetta Kelly 2015) other siblings on her maternal side are Katrina Lee, (Takia Jones, Veronica Lee, Sydney Fitzpatrick and Anthony Pierce), Jamie Grayson ( Matai Grayson and Jalen Grayson) and James Kelly ( Semaj Kelly, Semia Joyce Ann Kelly and Natalia Kelly) Paternal siblings include Jeremy Johnson, Jillian Johnson, Jana Johnson, Kita Johnson( Drekell) Jarus Johnson and Sheila Bush. Also preceded in death are her (Maternal Grandparents) Margeret Bess and Charles Ward (Paternal Grandparents) Maggie Lee Kelly. Sisters by love are Toni Davis, (preceded in death) Nita “Cherry” Spiller and Marsha Tennie. Lena was a Jack of all trades, she was “Misses fix it” from creating a meal or a cocktail out of limited options at times, Installing HVAC systems, she could change a tire faster than the Michelin man and reviving anything that most people would think is broken. I would be remiss, I didn’t mention that Elena was a “pop off Queen” (If you know, you know) Trials and Tribulations made her tough, but being raised by a loving and caring Mother encouraged her nurturing spirit. Elena was the caregiver to her Mother the last 10 years of her life, before her heartbreaking departure from us August 2020. Despite all of the adversities Lena faced throughout her life, her strength and courage was unmeasurable.
